General Miletic at the American-Adriatic Charter conference

Serbian Army Chief of General Staff Gen. Miloje Miletic is participating in the 15th Defense Chiefs of the American-Adriatic Charter, which is beingheld in Zagreb, from 21 to 23 of November.

In addition to chiefs of defence of the American-Adriatic Charter member states (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Croatia and Montenegro), the conference is also attended by the Chief of the Armed Forces of Slovenia, the commander of NATO Joint Forces in Naples, European Command Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of the United States and the commander of EUFOR.

The topic of this conference is training and participation in multinational operations, with special focus being placed on international exercises and joint capacity building of armed forces and the exchange of information on the situation in the airspace.

It is an excellent opportunity for the participants to hold separate, bilateral talks, where they can exchange views on current security issues in Southeast Europe and the possibilities for improving cooperation.

General Miletic will hold talks with the commander of NATO Joint Forces in Naples Admiral Samuel Locklear, deputy commander of the EUCOM Armed Forces Lt. Gen. John Gardner and the defence chiefs of Slovenia, Macedonia and Croatia, Major General Alois Steiner, Major General Goranco, Koteski and LTG Drago Lovric respectively

Participation in the US-Adriatic Charter is a good framework to promote cooperation and understanding in the region and to strengthen the ability of countries in the region to provide joint responses to security challenges, risks and threats. The Republic of Serbia in this initiative has had an observer status since December 2006.
