The day of the Financial Services marked

The Day of MoD Financial Services, 8 November was marked today by holding a ceremony and a work meeting in the House of Guards in Topcider. The meeting was attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Aleksandar Miscevic, Assistant Minister for Budget and Finance Srbislav Cvejic, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army including numerous guests.

"This year we celebrate the holiday in public, by analyzing financial operations of organizational units of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army, after which we will summarize the results of financial services this year," said Assistant Minister for Budget and Finance Srbislav Cvejic, recalled that on 8 November the Day of Financial Services has been celebrated since 2008.

"New work organization of the Ministry of Defence as well as the reformed financial services have enabled us to give a significant contribution to the reform of the defense system. Since it is embedded in all organizational units of the Ministry and Army, our department has the ability to enable that everyone should carry out their tasks and achieve better results more effectively. Its control function in applying regulations and procedures of reduced interest rates and the amounts recoverable, has resulted in significant financial resources remaining within the ministry which have been used for improving the standard of professional members of the Serbian Army, professionalization, creating better working conditions, education, international cooperation and improvement of the image of the Army ", said Cvejic.

He noted that the Financial Service in the future can play an important role in creating conditions for stable funding of a professional army in carrying out all the missions at home and abroad. Also this will contribute to the education of young and qualified staff who will be trained at the Military Academy, which will also include the graduate studies, namely, MCs and PhD tracks.

Following the ceremony, the representatives of the General Staff, Land Forces Command and the Air Force Command presented the results of their work, after which the Secretary of State Alexander Miscevic gave a summary of the results of Financial Services.
