Marking the day of VTI
Day of the Military Technical Institute has marked its 63rd anniversary today at the premises of the institution. The ceremony was attended by Assistant Minister for Material Resources Ilija Pilipovic, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army General Staff, the directors of institutions and cooperative companies, and many guests.
Addressing the crowd at the ceremony, Deputy Minister for Material Resources Ilija Pilipovic, among other things, said:- If we remember the past two years by record results in the production, this will surely remember as the year when we started the whole investment Uzice, Cacak, Baric. This trend will continue in the coming year and investments in Kragujevac and Lucani. Competitiveness in the market can pick up only investing in resources that we have to improve, and our main resource is people. Ministry of Defence will seek to support the local industry up - Pilipovic said, adding that the work of VTI provides the answer to the question of whether small nations need to have the defense industry.
With respect to the work and the achievements of the VTI, the director of that institution, Colonel Zoran Rajic spoke, who on that occasion said that the Ministry of Defence had continued to finance, equip as well as with infrastructure planning and rejuvenation of scientific personnel and research institutes.- Measured by the number of large projects, the results of VTI are the largest in the past two decades. This year we continued to work on projects from the past and launched a series of new large projects, as Colonel Rajic remarked, stressing that the VTI has been accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a research and development institution.
- Achievement of the VTI in this year has placed special emphasis on "mini-umanned air crafts ", the first successful flight of "tactical umanned air crafts", the first successful flight with digitized cockpit of Lasta, launching missiles from "modular self-propelled missile," as the first successfully effect of close lighter - said col Rajic adding Rajic that VTI this year features a new laboratory for textiles, leather and shoes, and that in a few days preparing for the new equipment and laboratory for Optoelectronics.
Colonel Rajic observed that the VTI, in addition to projects for the Army of Serbia has also been hired by third parties for commercial projects,.- A symposium organized by VTI in the field of defense technology - "OTEH 2011" was held also held. Our magazine "Scientific Technical Review," has for the first time in its history been categorized as a magazine of national importance and that the only scientific and technical data sheet in Serbia - said Rajic.
At the end of the meeting, deserving individuals and institutions it cooperates with VTI were awarded plaques "Archimedes", thanksgiving, and cash prizes.
