Cadets in the campaign "Battle for babies"

The humanitarian action «The battle for babies" launched by B92 Fund, which aims at raising funds for the purchase of 100 new incubators for premature children, and include the Military Academy cadets. In just a few days they have managed to collect money that is almost enough to purchase one of the incubator.

- We heard from the media that the action was launched, and soon we organized a fund raising campaign at the cadet parliament. Each cadet decided to give as much as they could and together with their superiors deposited a certain sum into the gyro account of the B92 fund – as junior cadet sergeant Goran Pavlovic, a third year- student from Belgrade said.

Even the students from the school of reserve officers joined in. the cadets decided to keep this to themselves, wishing just to raise the money and had it to their superiors.

- In the Army there is awareness of the humanitarian work. We often help our colleagues who are in difficult financial circumstances, give blood when it is necessary. This is one of many campaigns and we hope that it will be contribute to buying an incubator – as the students of the School of Reserve Officers Daniel Fotic from Kragujevac retells his story.

Military Academy cadets regularly participate in various humanitarian activities –by donating blood for transfusion, to helping the citizens of Kraljevo in relieving the consequences of an earthquake.

- My friend was a premature baby w who was saved thanks to an incubator. I hope our small donation will help some future newborns, perhaps the new cadets of the Army of Serbia – as explains cadet Sergeant Svetlana Golubovic from Belgrade, senior student.

The campaign «The battle for the baby" is ongoing, and all those can help can deposit funds to the gyro account of the B92 fund. The main goal is to raise money for the purchase of 100 incubators which Serbia is in desperate need of. The mortality of prematurely born babies weighing up to 999 grams in Serbia is 60 percent, while the European Union and the United States the rate is considerably lower - 15 percent.
