Top military officials visit "Toplica" exercise
Participants of the exercise "Toplica 2011", which has been performed since 19 October at the Simulation Training Center, were today visited by the Chief of General Staff General Miloje Miletic and representatives of the organizational units of the Ministry of Defence, SAF General Staff, the operational level of command and Guard.The report about the course of the exercise and activities performed by members of the 37th mechanized battalion 3rd Brigade Simulation Training center, was given to General Miletic by the Chief of the Training and Doctrine Command General Staff Brigadier General Jovica Draganic and Head of the Training Center via simulation Colonel Zoran Lucic.
It is the second exercise supported by computer simulations implemented at the Simulation Training Center, as well as in the SerbianArmed forces in general.

After the demonstration exercises "Virtual breakthrough 2011" in June this year, the "Toplica 2011" training exercise is the first of this kind. The training center is equipped with modern simulation software, operational simulation environment as a setting for the command exercise of the 37th mechanized battalion. This was the center’s way of demonstrating its ability to independently plan, prepare and perform such an exercises, as colonel Lucic stated.- Exercise "Toplica 2011" entitled "Mechanized Battalion Engaged on Launching a Counter-attack" is supported by modern information technology for realistic, yet virtual environment, as Colonel Lucic remarked.
During the exercises the members of the 37th mechanized battalions practiced attained skills in planning, preparation and execution of operations in a virtual environment.

Such a virtual display of reality of the operating environment is cheaper to perform a task, especially today. It also allows for a variety of operational situations, and exercises can be carried out more frequently and in a space that is limited. This is the first institution for collective training in the Serbian Armed Forces, primarily for training commando units.
