US donation

Keys to two ambulance vehicles, donated by the US Embassy, were given to the Military Medical Academy today in the parking lot of "Grand Motors" company in Belgrade. Car keys were also handed over to the Department of Emergency Management, KBC "Dragisa Misovic", Institute for Mother and Child Care and the Health Center in Krusevac.

Keys of the vehicles was handed over by the U.S. Ambassador to Belgrade Mary Warlick, and the ceremony was attended by State Secretary of Defense Zoran Vesic, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and health care institutions that have received the U.S. embassy donation. On behalf of the Military Medical Academy the deputy chief of the Military Medical Academy professor. Dr. Col. Dragan Dincic received the keys.

IN thanking for the donation. On behalf of the Ministry of Defense and the Military Medical Academy, the Secretary of State Vesic said that the Serbian government and the Ministry of Defence had so far invested considerable effort in improving the conditions of treatment of citizens of Serbia.

"There is great need for new equipment, new vehicles, and I am sure that this donation will greatly improve the level of health care that we provide to our citizens," said Vesic.

Ambassador Warlick expressed satisfaction with the donation of six ambulances and six vehicles for special purposes, its value being 230 thousand USD. The cars were donated to various health institutions across Serbia, and except these the ambulance cars were donated to six city hospitals in Krusevac and Kraljevo and "the Red Cross of Serbia."

"Working together, the U.S. Embassy and the company" Grand Motors "were able to greatly to make these donations of these vehicles even greater as they will help communities throughout Serbia, from Kraljevo to Novi Pazar and Belgrade. I hope that these vehicles will allow the institutions that received these donations to better serve the people of Serbia and to help this country towards a prosperous and successful European future, "said Ambassador Warlick speaking to reporters.

Assistant Minister for Internal Affairs and Head of the Department for Emergency Situations Predrag Maric, said that similar donations were always welcome and that the given vehicles will serve the citizens of Serbia in the best way.

The Partner of the U.S. Embassy in donation was the company "Grand Motors", whose technical experts finished and customized the donated ambulance cars.
