Security Sector Reform seminar



Organized by the Strategic Planning Department for Defense Policy and the Ministry of Defence of the Planning and Development Staff of the Army of Serbia, in cooperation with NATO mobile training team from Joint Force Command Naples, led by Commander Stephen Tampau of 21 to 23 September, a seminar on "Security Sector Reform - A seminar on the development of operational concepts."

The seminar, opened by Maj. Gen. Dragan Kolundzija, Chief of Operations of the General Staff of the Army of Serbia, the Center for Peacekeeping Operations was attended by about 40 members of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia.

In the introductory part of the seminar presented the recent results and future priorities in the reform of defense system of Serbia.

The following seminars are presented with the contents of the security sector reform (the experience of NATO member states Partnership for Peace, NATO and the EU), NATO and the EU role in defense and security sector reforms and standardization within NATO.

In a final address to the participants of the seminar, the head of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade, Brigadier General Mauro De Vin?entis and frigate captain Stefan Tampau expressed particular satisfaction with the organization and in the implementation of the seminar, particularly emphasizing the willingness for future cooperation in this field.
