Cooperation with Austria
State Secretaries of the Ministry of Defence, Dr. Tanja Miscevic and Zoran Jevtic, in separate meetings, met today with the Chief Directorate for Security Policy, of Federal Ministry of Defence and Sports of the Republic of Austria, Major General Johan Pucher, who is attending Belgrade security forum.In discussions it was noted that cooperation in the area of defense was-intensive and stressed the need for its further improvement, with a focus in the field of education, CBRD, logistics and preparation for participation in peacekeeping operations. Both General Pucher and Secretary Miscevic agreed on further exchange of experience in the field of military medicine, civil-military cooperation and professionalism of the armed forces.
Federal Ministry of Defence and Sports of the Republic of Austria will continue to assist in defense reform, and the Republic of Serbia in its approximation to European integration and inclusion in regional and wider initiatives.
In the coming period will, the possibility of joint training and participation in multinational operations will be considered. By the end of the year SAF members are expected to take part in the UNTSO mission within the Austrian contingent.In order to promote military sports even further in terms of limited budget, regional sports competitions have been suggested as optimal ways of cooperation.
