Vlade Divac receives the delegations of military athletes

President of Olympic Committee of Serbia Vlade Divac received the delegation of military athletes, led by head of the Serbian military delegation with the CISM State Secretary of Defense Zoran Jevtic. The reason for today's meeting was the participation of our military athletes at the 5th world military games in Rio de Janeiro in July this year.

On that occasion, Secretary of State Jevtic said that the plan is to intensify cooperation with the Olympic Committee.

- It is necessary to make further action on our part that the cooperation was formalized. Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia have significant resources to support the development of sports, such as capacity in the field of military medicine on our Military Medical Academy - Jeftic said, adding that the plan is for the future military athletes to engage in more traditional military disciplines such as military pentathlon and parachuting, where they have already achieved good results.

During the conversation, Vlade Divac said that today's meeting is proof that the military athletes are in focus even outside the defense .

- Although the results achieved in competitions are not our top priority, we are very satisfied with their performance, especially considering that our team is one of the few teams made up exclusively of soldiers- said Divac.

Divac recalled the Memorandum of Understanding signed last year, which envisions that the Olympic Committee can use the services of MMA , while the military can in turn hire professional athletes for their needs.

The reception organized by the Olympic Committee was attended by military athletes who participated in last year's First World Winter Military Games held in Italy.
