ODBRANA Magazine in its 143 issue of the first September



Members of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces successfully carried out live air defence firing exercise in the Shabla training area in Bulgaria. This concluded the ten-day international military exercise of the Serbian Armed Forces between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Bulgarian Army "Autumn 2011" in which the members of the 250th AA missile brigade and 204th air brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces took part, together with their colleagues from the Bulgarian Air Force.

"Morava" Airport is the biggest infrastructure project being carried out by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the last few decades, Minister Sutanovac pointed out during his visit to the works at the airport in Ladjevci and he announced that in October already, it will be possible for smaller aircraft with up to 100 seats to take off from it, and as of the spring next year it will be adapted also for charter flights.

Ministry of Defence, in accordance with the plan, will solve this year about 2000 housing issues. In Leskovac and Nis, we are distributing the keys to 52 apartments which we received in exchange for military real estate which were not purposeful for us, thanks to the agility of these cities, Minister Sutanovac said at distributing the keys in Leskovac. Ministry of Defence this year will provide 100 flats in the southern Serbia.

Bozidar Banovic, PhD, Inspector General of the military security services, said in an interview for DEFENSE, after six months in office, the function of the Inspector General has not only practically started to work in our defence system, but it was accepted in this system, especially in the Military Security and Military Intelligence Agency and among their members, as an unavoidable part of the system of supervision and control of the work.

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Milan Bjelica, has recently visited a part of the Army units in the garrison of Raska and the Ground Safety Zone, and units in Valjevo, Smederevo and Pozarevac.

On the occasion of the Military Museum Day - 22 August, in the gallery of that institution, the exhibition entitled "Anastas Jovanovic, the first Serbian photographer and lithographer" was opened. The public had opportunity for the first time to see the oldest part of the photo collection of the Military Museum and lithographs from the art collection.

The second event in the row, "Morava pot", in preparing fish dishes, was held in Vrnjacka Spa, organized by the military establishment "Tara" and the Sports Fishery Association "Moravac" from Rudjinci.

Seven female sport parachutists, together with a female member of the 63rd Parachute Battalion of the Special Brigade, Sergeant Major Radmila Djuric, broke the state record in skydiving in eight-member formation by jump from 4,000 meters above the airport Batajnica.
