Aid for the treatment of Irena Paunovic from Kraljevo

Members of the Ministry of Defence continue with the humanitarian action to collect financial aid to severely diseased Irena Paunovic from Kraljevo, which needs 120,000 euros for the treatment and surgical operation in Austria.

The contributions to this humanitarian action were given today by members of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence, State Secretaries, Assistants, Secretary of the Ministry, Advisors to the Minister of Defence.

Representatives of the Second Brigade presented the first part of the aid to Irena on 13 July, after the action that had been announced by Defence Minister Dragan Sutanovac, who visited Irena in June and promised the help.

Irena Paunovic had her left lung removed when she was eight years old, due to chronic obstructive lung disease – bronchiectasis. Since then, she has been living for 35 years with only one lung, but, unfortunately, five years ago it also began to break down. Irena is therefore day and night attached to a bottle of oxygen. Medical advice suggests that the only hope is in transplantation and that it must be done as soon as possible.

Those who decide to help Irena Paunovic, may pay financial contributions in dinar account in "Banca Intesa" 908-16001-87 with reference to the number 53-102-0005612/1.
