Minister receives Deputy State Secretary Assistant Reeker

Minister of defense Dragan Sutanovac talked today with the newly appointed deputy state secretary assistant Philip Reeker who is paying his fist official visit to Serbia.

Minister acquainted his guest with the results achieved in the process of the defense system reform stressing the importance of a well-developed bilateral defense cooperation which is the best part of the overall Serbia-USA cooperation.

Once again minister reiterated the official position of Serbia regarding the solution of the crisis on Kosovo and Metohija stressing that only a dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade could add to finding adequate solutions to this matter. Minister pointed out that Pristina’s unilateral moves only exacerbate the current situation and destabilize the region, as they can very easily jeopardize the whole negotiation process, which have just started yielding results.

Ambassador Philip Reeker thanked Serbia for its commitment to use dialogue and diplomatic activities to reach an agreement at the negotiations’ table. The continuation of the dialogue was an excellent opportunity, as he stressed, to overcome all administrative technical problems which had led to the crisis in Kosovo.
