Marking the day of the Riverine Units
With a ceremonious realigning of troops, the parade of units, by awarding prizes and awards, the members of the River Flotilla barracks in Novi Sad "Aleksandar Beric," marked the Day of the Riverine branch. Addressing the audience, the River Flotilla Commander Colonel Nebojsa Joksimovic reminded the present of the rich history and tradition of the Serbian River Fleet, stressing that the unit is now fully qualified to perform all tasks on and in water. On behalf of the Land Forces Command Major General Vidoje Zivkovic deputy commander of the Army congratulated this day to the members of the Riverine saying, among other things, that the River flotilla as a joint composition of the Army had in the previous period carried out a series of tasks which make it an invaluable support to the Army.
During the commemorative ceremony which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the SAF, the Novi Sad City Administration, local authorities, religious communities and other guests, the best company is 1st pontoon company of 1st pontoon battalion, for the best river ship, minesweeper 341 was declared to be the best, while the best crew title went to the 412th assault boat.On the occasion of the Day of the units, the photos of all the admirals, commanders and commanders of the River Flotilla members since 1915 year to date have been revealed, while the granddaughter Alexandra Beric of Navy lieutenant commander Alexander Beric of the ship "Drava" opened the exhibition dedicated to her grandfather.
