Generals Miletic and Bartels met in Belgrade, where they assessed that bilateral military cooperation between the Serbian Army and the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Denmark was very good, but that both countries had vested interest in its further development.

In an interview to Odbrana, Colonel Predrag Bandic, commander of the 204th aviation brigade, said we live in the times of rapid technological progress, when the aviation technology is prevailing, along with aircraft and equipment production, and equipment of modern aircraft, the question of prestige and further technological development of the country is a pivotal one. As Col Banda says, the number of flying hours for our pilots is not as important as the quality. He also says that the woman in a cockpit of planes and helicopters is cultural breakthrough in our society.

The topic of the issue is the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia. Its main objective is to improve service and capacity building in disaster relief, making a prompt response in case of emergency and efficient relief of consequences of disaster. By pooling resources of several ministries, after 55 years in our country, we have established a unique system of protection of citizens in adverse circumstances.

Quality training, participation in the four exercises, daily securing of the administrative line towards Kosovo and Metohija, and excellent cooperation with the local government are some tasks that in the past three years have been successfully completed by the Mechanized Battalion from Novi Pazar.

Training special forces of the Serbian Army in climbing is organized on Stol Mt. near Bor. Members of the Horse-Reconnaissance-Sabotage Company of the Special Brigade practiced different techniques of climbing.

In Raska and its surroundings, the training of the shooting platoon for participation in United Nations peacekeeping operation in Cyprus – UNFICYR has ended. Recently, members of the of the SAF carried out the exercise - "Mediterranean 2011", to test in practice the level of knowledge and skills during the eight weeks of training and to see the ability of units engaged in the Cyprus peace operation.

Major Igor Jankovic shared his impressions after returning from peacekeeping missions in Liberia. I asked him questions that, one might say, a native of Surdulica would not know how to respond - the weather in this part of the world, what the people there were like, what troubles them and how it was to be a Serb in the one-year work in the scorching regions of Africa.

Lieutenant Alexander Disovic was the first Serb member of alpha 18, who has successfully completed in November last year in the U.S., the eight-month training course for the best special forces in the world. He is one of 36 foreigners who received the opportunity to take the first "green beret" as a symbol of status and prestige of U.S. military special forces. They chose him as the best, and the commander of the Special Warfare School awarded him the Medal of Merit.

The Department of Foreign Languages of the Military Academy, perhaps more than any other department is marked by diversity. In addition to teaching activities, teachers hold foreign language courses for members of the Defence Ministry and the Serbian Army, and at times for officials of certain state institutions, and performing translation and other extracurricular activities.

Several medical centers - Military Medical Academy, Clinical Center of Serbia, clinical centers in Novi Sad and Niš are trained in transplant surgery, while the Belgrade Institute for the Health Care of Mother and Child perform bone marrow transplant, and the University Children's Hospital in kidney transplantation and Tirsova liver.

This summer, hotels "Beli bor" of the Military Tourist Institutions "Tara" was home to about 600 children of the humanitarian organization "Our Serbia" gathered at the eleventh "School of Friendship". From 2 July to 6th August, in three10-day shifts, staying children from Serbia, neighboring countries and the Serbian enclaves in Kosovo and Metohija will stay here.

In the last few years, the media have increasingly reported on close encounters of sailors and pirates, especially on the high seas of the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea. The target of "modern pirates" are freight ships, but several cases of interception of warships have also been noted.

This spring 95 years since the establishment of the First Serbian Volunteer Division have been marked, which significantly strengthened the Serbian Army in Thessalonica Front, thus ensuring its later breakthrough, crowned with glory of his heroes, participated in the liberation of the fatherland.

Military history enthusiasts, curators and historians, particularly on the renewal of existing collections, collection and protection of museum items are very persistent in their work, which promoted the Museum Society of Serbia to award the most valuable museum award to the Kalemegdan Military Museum - "Mihailo Valtrovic".

Representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia participated in this year's fifth international military sports games in Brazil - "Games of Peace", held from 15 to 25 July in Rio de Janeiro. They showed their professionalism and acknowledged the spirit of competition and the best results achieved Uros Nenkovi? reserve soldier, winning fifth place in the judo competition.
