Members of the Serbian Armed Forces in International Exercise in Ukraine



Members of the Serbian Armed Forces will take part in the international exercise "Rapid Trident 2011" to be held in Ukraine from 25 July to 5 August. Joint exercise called "Rapid Trident 2011" (after a trident – the sign of the Ukrainian Armed Forces) organized by the US European Command together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The exercise involves 1,600 troops from thirteen partner countries, and the aim of the exercise, apart from the practical training, is familiarizing, socializing and exchange of experiences from the previous peacekeeping missions among the members of the armed forces of the countries participating in the exercise.

In the Yavoriv military training ground, 60 kilometres far from the Ukrainian city of Lviv, a firing squad from the composition of the 21st Infantry Battalion of the 2nd Army Brigade and two parachute teams from the Special Army Brigade, with other participants of the Exercise, will be resolving hostage situations and training in counter-insurgency fighting tactics that are used in peacekeeping missions.
