Guard orchestra at the opening of SOFEST film festival



The 40th film festival "SOFEST" opened on Friday evening in front of the Cultural Centre in Sopot, where the ceremony was accompanied by a performance of the Serbian Army Representative Guard Orchestra. The official start of the event was declared by Milena Dravic, followed by a fireworks display.

- The festival was founded in 1972 under the name "Liberating Film Festival" and dealt with predominantly anti-war and anti-fascist themes. This is why this 40th anniversary "SOFESTis opened in the presence of the Serbian Army Guard Orchestra - say the organizers of the evening's festivities.

After the performance of the orchestra given by at the plateau in front of the Cultural Centre in Sopot, other participants, distinguished actors, started ariving The audience greeted Svetlana Bojkovic, Tanja Boskovic, Voja Brajovic, Svetozar Cvetkovic, Katarina Zutic, Bane Trifunovic, Nada Sargin, Marko Zivic and many others. Guard band then played - "Dixie Parade", "St. Louis Blues" and "March on the Drina".

The fest was also attended by directors Dejan Zecevic and Misa Radivojevic, whose film "How the Germans stole me," the audience had the opportunity to see after its inauguration. Another 12 films will participate in the competition for the award.

Festival "SOFEST" will continue until 5 July, and the event is sponsored by Serbian President Boris Tadic.
