Press conference on occasion of Partner 2011 arms fair
Speaking about the importance of the upcoming conference, Pilipovic stressed that the main focus of the fair was the region, which was fulfilled.
The name of the fair Partner has completely lived up to our expectations, he stated, adding that next week we can expect the representatives of regional countries as well as of those beyond region to attend the fair.
What we find really encouraging is the announced number of delegations of industries of other countries, besides those who will exhibit their products. These representatives of foreign industries will come here through their chambers of commerce and embassies. So we can safely say that this year’s manifestation goes beyond the framework of an arms fair and becomes a fair of defense, since modern armaments cannot exist without institutions tasked with overhaul, training and education, quality control, or the required infrastructure to support these systems.
A special segment will be dedicated to NATO codification which will be primarily focused on arms producers, since the main goal of this year’s event is to have a set date when the first Serbian-made weapon will be codified according to these standards.
He also announced that SAF members will present how certain weapons are operated. CEO of Yugoimport SDPR Stevan Nikcevic estimated that Partner was growing into a traditional manifestation, as proven by the number of participating countries and foreign delegations.
- Yugoimport SDPR, as an integrator of the Serbian defense industry, will this year participate along with its six basic factories, with other factories who produce certain defense technologies, as Nikcevic pointed out, emphasizing tat the visitors would e able to see both products for home and foreign markets.
