Presentation of the NTF project for Serbia at the meeting of the Euroatlantic partnership committee



The delegation of the Defense Ministry, headed by State Secretary Igor Jovicic, participated in the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Committee meeting held on 21 June in Brussels, where it gave a presentation NATO / PfP Trust Fund surplus to help the redundant military personnel in the Republic of Serbia (NTF project). On this occasion, the representatives of about 50 NATO / PfP countries were addressed by Secretary of State Jovicic who stressed the importance of this project and the competence of the Ministry for the implementation of our support in changing careers, thanking donor countries for their support.

The Director of Department for Career Change , Lt. Col. Dragan Milkovic and project manager Gianluca Rocco with the NTF project, presented the main achievements of the project, with 6,000 former members of MoD and SAF received advice and counseling on potential new careers while financial support was provided to more than 4,500 persons.

External evaluator Christian Bunjon talked about the results of the project evaluation. He pointed out a unique approach to project implementation and close cooperation of the Ministry of Defense and the International Organization for Migration, as an executive agency of the project. Furthermore, he stressed that the funds invested in the project were being properly spent, primarily on direct assistance to users, but also on building the capacity of the Serbian MoD to support career change.

NTF project in Serbia is considered to be one of the most successful projects of its kind and represents a good model for similar projects in the region and beyond. Through the exit strategy of the project, which ends on 30 June 2011, the Ministry of Defence will assume part of TF procedures and capacities for further project implementation support in changing careers.
