138th issue of ODBRANA brings to you
At the strategic military partner conference in Belgrade, representatives of the from 56 countries around the world participated. Chiefs of Staff are attending the conference along with the representatives of member countries of NATO, PfP, Mediterranean Dialogue, Istanbul Cooperation Initiative and the contact state, and senior military representatives of NATO and the European Union.
At the Fifth Conference of Balkan countries CHODs, the importance of developing regional military cooperation and maintaining close neighborly relations, as a way to improve the security environment in the region and Europe was emphasized.
Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, accompanied by the Director of the Building Directorate of Serbia Dragan Grujic, General Director of "Yugoimport - SDPR Stevan Nikcevic and Assistant Minister for Material Resources Ilija Pilipovic, visited the construction site of apartments in the former Vozdovac barracks “Stepa Stepanovi?", where everything goes according to plan.
In an interview to Odbrana, Ilija Pilipovic, Assistant Minister for Material Resources points out that the defense industry is the foremost in reviving the energy industry, chemical, textile, metal-processing, automotive, aviation industries, and thus the whole of our economy. Minister Sutanovac congratulated, officers, NCOs and professional soldiers of the Army of Serbia, as well as residents of village of Bobovo near Svilajnac on the construction of the bridge, which was essential for those who had to cross over 20 km a day to reach the other bank of the Resava River.
At the test site Centa a common tactic of practice of the SAF Air Force under the title “Hurricane 2011”.
The second phase of the computer simulation exercise "Virtual step forward 2011” was held at the Simulation Training center. This is the first such exercise in the Army of Serbia where an especially computer generated war theatre is used for the training commands and units, with elements of a combat unit deployment in the zone operations.
The soldiers of the first generation of voluntary military service were given certificates for successful completion of training, while eighty percent of the soldiers have expressed their desire to establish a professional military career. Those who successfully pass medical examination and psychological tests will undergo additional training in the Serbian Armed Forces.
