"Open Day" in the river flotilla
It was for the third time that Novi Sad barracks "Aleksandar Beric", within the already traditional campaign "Open Day", opened the gates to the citizens of Novi Sad and the surrounding places. As before, the most numerous, and the dearest visitors were the youngest ones, the pupils of Novi Sad kindergarten, elementary and secondary schools.
Besides ships, boats, and weapons at the disposal of River Flotilla units, arms, weaponry and equipment of reconnaissance units of the First Army Brigade and the Fifth Military Police Company were displayed. More than two thousand visitors made company with the members of the Armed Forces for few hours and they looked the arms and equipment with great interest. However, they enjoyed the most, especially the youngest ones, in a short drive in a river minesweeper and boats of the 93rd diving company. The adults had the opportunity to try the tour on a ferry from the composition of the pontoon unit.
Visitors have visited the memorial room of the River Flotilla, where they were introduced to the history and development of the unit seeing many exhibits.
