Defence Minister Dragan Sutanovac has received today the Military High School student 35 class Petar Repic and Lieutenant Aleksandar Disovic, a member of the Special Brigade.

Petar Repic is soon to be sent to studies at the US West Point Military Academy, while lieutenant Disovic stayed in this country last year, attending the course for the US Special Forces.

On this occasion Minister Sutanovac pointed out that according to the old Serbian tradition, this year the Serbian Armed Forces was given the opportunity for its officers, soldiers and cadets to be educated outside the country.

- We are proud of the fact that the prestigious military academies around the world educate our cadets. This year, our representative is student Petar Repic, who has recently underwent a selective training for admission to the West Point Military Academy – Minister Sutanovac said expressing hope that Petar will continue with the success he achieved at the Military High School.

According to him, dozens of young cadets are currently being educated outside the borders of Serbia, and their experience will be an added quality when they return to the country.

- In the past few years, our military academy educated more foreign cadets and officers, which is very important because exchanging cadets and officers create bridges of friendship in the future – Sutanovac emphasized.

Military High School pupil Petar Repic, who was admitted to study at the U.S. West Point Military Academy, is an excellent student with an average mark of 4.93, and he is among the best three students in this generation.

-The entry exam was the same as for the American candidates, and it was necessary to pass the technical tests, English language tests, and also to meet physical fitness standards that were very demanding – Petar said, adding that he expects to be able to successfully apply the experience gained during his studies abroad in his future work in the Serbian Armed Forces.

During the last ten-month-qualification course for the members of US Special Forces, Lieutenant Alexander Disovic was named as the best foreign attendee of the course and was awarded the Medal for Merits presented to him by the Commandant of the Special Warfare School.

- Staying at this school was a great life experience, because it is the most prestigious military academy in the USA where cadets from around the world study and exchange experiences – Aleksandar said, adding that there are great similarities between the studies in this and in our military academy, but that each of them is difficult in its own way.
