Chief of General Staff Visits Russia
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, General Miloje Miletic, talked in Moscow today with the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Army General Nikolai Makarov, on defence cooperation between the two countries.Generals Miletic and Makarov have agreed that there is mutual interest in intensifying cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Russian armed forces, especially when it comes to military economic issues and joint training. At the meeting they also exchanged views on the continuation and possibilities for improvement of military education and military medical cooperation.
During the talks the participation of the Russian delegation at the upcoming Strategic Military Partner Conference in Belgrade has been confirmed.
During the official visit, the delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces will visit the Fifth Armoured-Mechanized Brigade. Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation in the field of defence is the most intensive in the military education and military economic areas. Many visits of the expert working groups and delegations have been carried out, and the joint Serbian-Russian military technical cooperation group has been formed, which will contribute to intensifying the military economic cooperation between the two countries.
