Delegation of the Ministry of Defence in a working visit to the USA



Delegation of the Ministry of Defence led by State Secretary Alexander Miscevic, paid a working visit to the United States, where they had a series of meetings and discussions on future cooperation in the field of financial planning and management in the defence system.

State Secretary Miš?evi? met with David Ochmanek, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Force Development, on the achieved level of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and the United States.

Cooperation with the representatives of the Office of Management and Budget of the White House was agreed.

The delegation met with the representatives of the Defence Logistics Agency. On that occasion they discussed about various tools to reduce costs and functioning of provision of the logistical support to the armed forces.

During several meetings of the delegation at the Pentagon with experts in the field of financial planning and management in the US defence system, they identified specific segments in which we can expect help in the implementation and professional development to our mutual satisfaction, to use tools that can be applied in much smaller systems such as the defence system of the Republic of Serbia.

State Secretary Miš?evi? met with Senator Rob Portman and Congressman Mike Turner from Ohio and they talked about the State Partnership Program between Serbia and Ohio and possibilities of expanding cooperation to the civilian sector.

During the meeting with representatives of the Centre for Strategic and Budget Assessments, they talked about effectiveness of financial management control and basic tools that SAF can implement from the model the US Armed Forces in the area of financial management.
