Open Day in 204th aviation brigade

At Batajnica military airfield, the home to the 204th Aviation Brigade, a traditional campaign "Open Day" dedicated to the families of brigade, kids in elementary schools and all fans of military aviation and military technology was held on Saturday.

Visitors were able to closely see tactical-technical assembly of aircraft, weapons and equipment that are part of the Brigade. After visiting and photographing in the cockpits of the air planes, more than a thousand visitors had a chance to see an attractive and exciting synchronized flying program that the military pilots performed on MiG-21, MiG-29, Supergaleb G-4 and Gazelle helicopters and Mi-8 with the kind instructions of pilots.

However, special guests from Kosovo had to travel longest to reach Batajnica, as they are paying a seven-day visit to Belgrade. They were given a tour accompanies by the singer of singer Natalie Bekvalac, the first woman pilot of jet aircraft in Serbia Sandra Radovanovic and distributor Kristina Cizmar, this year's Champion in Air Force Sports Championship. The guests today were brigade and military high school cadets from Milan as well as the elementary school students from Nova Pazova, Indjija and Batajnica.

Commander of the 204th Aviation Brigade, Col. Predrag Bandic did not hide his satisfaction with today's "Open Day" stressing that the aim of today's events has been accomplished.
-- We did our best to present to the children from surrounding villages, our youngest neighbors, equipment and aircraft of the base. Number of visitors today proves once again that our nation loves aviators and aviation. It really fills me with pleasure seeing so many guests and knowing that we have given them a chance to get acquainted with our youngest pilots - Military Academy cadets, our future colleagues. I hope we have succeeded them in encouraging them to join our ranks today and to fly guarding the skies over Serbia.
