SAF CHOD visits Spain
SAF delegation headed by the SAF CHOD General Miloje Miletic is paying an official visit to Spain.
During the day, General Miletic laid a wreath at the Monument to an Unknown Hero and had talks with his Spanish counterpart General Fernandez. It was another occasion to confirm good cooperation in the field of defense and a positive relationship of military relations, and it was an opportunity to discuss the modalities of future cooperation.Generals Fernandez and Miletic agreed that the mutual cooperation should be developed in the next period as well, and that the accent should be placed on the quality of joint activities and not on quantity.
Generals Fernandez stated that the integration of the members of Serbian armed forces within the Spanish contingent, currently deployed in UNFIL in Lebanon had been very successful. Both generals spoke about the possibility of greater participation of MoD and SAF members in this missions.
The host acquainted the guests from Serbia very thoroughly about the organization and structure of the Spanish armed forces, and the activities done following the modernization plan, the international obligations Serbia has assumed and engagement of the members of the Spanish forces in multinational operations.
During today the SAF delegation will visit the Spanish forces parachuting brigade where they will discuss further steps in cooperation of special forces of both armies, as the expert talks regarding this topic had already been carried out.
During 2009 general Frenandez paid an official visit to SAF, and the same year he attended the air show in Batajnica air field.
