Stanislav Binicki and EUCOM army band gave a concert in Nis
In the National Theatre in Nis a joint concert of the Serbian Mod ensemble “Stanislav Binicki” and the US EUCOM Army Military Orchestra. The concert held to mark 130 year-long tradition of diplomatic relations between the USA and Serbia was attended by the SAF Army Commander LTG Ljubisa Dikovic, US EUCOM commander LTG Mark Hertling and several hundreds of music lovers from Nis.
The concert started with the rendering of the national anthems of both countries, and the concert also included arias from Traviata and Madame Butterfly, Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, traditional songs “Tamo daleko”, and „ The stars - Stripes forever“.Under the baton of conductor Pavle Medakovic both bands performed various songs, while the citizens of Nis welcomed the ABBA song s, and March over the Drina and the Serbian south with adulation.
Following the successful performance of the US ambassadors of music, the director of the EUCOM army band LTCOL Beth Steel expressed her pleasure with marking 130 years of diplomatic relations between the US and Serbian with music.
