A Decade of the campaign for road safety



Members of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces participated in today's event, "Decade of Campaign for Road Safety". They were there to support the program held at the Republic Square organized by the Agency for Traffic Safety and also presented the actions undertaken in the field of military traffic participants.

The visitors to the stand of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia had the opportunity to see the equipment used in traffic control - a device for measuring the alcohol in the breath, a radar device to measure speed and set the crime scene. They showed great interest in seeing these devices have to the kids who on the Swquare pavement drew their pictures on traffic situations.

-During compulsory conscription, we trained attendees in traffic behavior, and that tradition is continued today. Every year, we reward our members who are most careful in traffic and commit least or no traffic offenses-as, Zeljko Rankovic, head of the Department of Transport and Transport Equipment, of the General Logistics Department, Material Resources Sector.

Participants pointed out that every day more than 3,500 people are killed, or 1.3 million per year. Number of accidents in Serbia has been reduced since new Law on Traffic has entered into force.
