Slovakia and Serbia hold defense consultations



Head of the International Military Cooperation Department Milorad Peric was in Slovakia at the invitation of Dr. Jaroslav Nadja, General Manager for Defense Policy, international relations and legislation of the Ministry of Defence of the Bilateral consultations between the Defence Ministries of Serbia and Slovakia were held during the visit. On that occasion, the bilateral military cooperation plan for 2011 was signed.

It was noted that cooperation in the field of defense was very good and was continually improving in quality. The need for its further qualitative improvement was seen in the following areas of cooperation: training and participation in multinational operations, education and training and military economic cooperation. Furthermore, a meeting at the highest level and coordinated activities were scheduled for the future.

They discussed the possibility of increasing the number of MO and VS in the Slovak contingent in the multinational UN operation in the Republic of Cyprus UNFICYP. Currently, within the UNFICYP, in the Slovak-Hungarian contingent, MoD and SAF has dispatched seven members.
