SEE Military Medical Services Conference ends

In the House of Guards in Topcider, the Conference of military medical services of the SEE countries ended yesterday, where experts in military health care from ten countries have made conclusions and recommendations aimed at better cooperation in the future.

Summing up the results of the previous two days, the Chief of the Military Health Care Brigadier General Veljko Todorovic told the participants that there were many forms of cooperation in military medicine, such as educating and training teams to engaging them in joint exercises, to participate in multinational peacekeeping missions.

- These activities are examples of successful cooperation, but it proved that there is room to expand it - said Todorovic General.

Conclusions from yesterday's conference of military medics were that there was a lack of trained staff in this area, and that there was a need for standardized training and education. Opportunities for cooperation are in continuing joint military exercises, regional training, standardization and information sharing to promote work and reduce costs.

There was talk of potential connecting of the countries into the Balkan Military Medical Committee (BMMC), as well as of the mechanisms for establishing, directing and coordinating the priorities in the field of military medicine.

Stating that the Belgrade conference was extremely successful, the participants agreed to meet with the same goal next year.
