Bilateral defense consultations between Italy and Serbia



In Belgrade bilateral defense consultations between Serbia and Italy were held yesterday, which were chaired by the Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defence of Serbia Milorad Peric and Deputy Assistant for Military Policy and Planning Staff of the Armed Forces of Italy, Admiral Paolo Sandals.

During the consultations, the bilateral military cooperation plan for 2011 was signed. Serbia and Italy have established good military cooperation, which is at highest level in comparison to other countries in the region. The main activities are in the field of education, exchange of experiences in peacekeeping operations and specialized training.

Italy has expressed its willingness to support the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia to engage in collective defense and security policy of the European Union, the engagement of experts and a better understanding of required procedures.
