New Cabinet at the NBCD Personnel Training Centre in Krusevac



NBCD Personnel Training Centre in Krusevac has officially put into operation a multimedia general purpose cabinet and a cabinet for nuclear-biological-chemical simulation. Equipment and softwares for cabinets, approximately EUR 90,000 worth were donated by the Kingdom of Norway and Denmark.

The Opening Ceremony was attended by representatives of the Centre Command, the Ministry of Defence and the Donor Countries – Colonel Esben Aass, Norwegian Defence Attaché, and Lieutenant Soren Knudsen, Danish Defence Attaché.

Colonel Slobodan Savic, NBCD TC Commander, thanked the donors who, according to him, through the cooperation so far, have shown their willingness to support the project "Regional NBCD Centre". He pointed out that the new Cabinets will have a positive impact on the training the members of NBCD service of the Serbian Armed Forces and will raise the level of interoperability with the PfP countries.

Colonel Esben Aass stressed the importance of the newly opened office for NBCD simulations that will be of benefit not only for the Serbian Armed Forces, but also for the civil structures. He underlined that Norway will support the NBCD Center as a regional project and praised the activities of the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces and the Centre in Krusevac related to the establishment of the Regional NBCD Training Centre .

Lieutenant Colonel Soren Knudsen pointed out that many countries have much to learn from the experience and knowledge of the personnel in Krusevac and expressed his satisfaction that his country has the opportunity to participate in the development of an important project.

NBCD Simulation Cabinet is equipped with the state-of-the- art computer equipment and software used in NATO armies for training in all procedures related to situations that involve chemical, biological or nuclear accidents. The value of the software is more than EUR 50,000 and using it the Serbian Armed Forces reaches a far greater degree of interoperability with NATO countries and the Partnership for Peace when it comes to NBCD. The NBCD Simulation Cabinet will be of great benefit also for the civil structures, because it will be offering training to staff who do not belong to the Serbian Armed Forces.

Multimedia cabinet is equipped with modern audio, video and computer equipment that allows various types of seminars for local and international students. It is estimated that these funds will greatly contribute to increasing the level of training at the NBCD Personnel Training Centre, which has long been recognized, beyond the borders of Serbia, by the expertise of its members.
