Cooperation with OSCE
Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Dragan Sutanovac, has talked today with President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Petros Efthymiou, on cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the OSCE. Minister Sutanovac informed his interlocutor about the process of defence reform, stressing the importance of professionalisation of the military and greater participation in the UN and the EU-led missions.
Mr Efthymiou welcomed the progress in implementing reforms in Serbia, and stressed the importance of reforms made in the Ministry of Defence. He assessed as particularly significant the defence cooperation with the neighbours, which is a key link in the cooperation in the region.
He also informed Minister Sutanovac about preparations for holding the 20th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which is to be held in Belgrade early in July 2011.
