On occasion of the 15th February - Day of the Serbian Armed Forces, President Boris Tadic today hosted a reception for the most responsible persons of the defense system. The reception in the Serbian presidency was attended by Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac with the State Secretaries of MoD, Serbian Army Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. President Boris Tadic, congratulating the Day of the Army, said that Serbia is counting on his army, on its members at all times and in all trials. He expressed his deep conviction that the military has contributed substantially to the security of our country, the stability of the entire region of the Southeast Europe and that as such is an essential factor of peace and development in this part of the world.

The President congratulated on the great achievements in the previous period, the reforms, he says, which have cut deep and are substantive, defining a strategic direction for development and essential for understanding of the key goals for Serbia and its citizens.

President Tadic said that the military is an essential element of our political development, political integration, technological and industrial development and the education system. It has, as he underlined, established itself as one of the key institutions of our society.

- To You, Mr. Minister, I personally congratulate you on what has been done and to General Miletic, all congratulations on the reforms that the General Staff and the military is carrying out in its strictest sense, with the belief that the army would have the same position in the future years as well. I confirm once again that, as President of the Republic of Serbia, I can not imagine the development of society and its future without such a key role of the military in our society, in our community - said Tadic.
