Concert " Our children"



Just days before the Day of the Serbian Army, in the ceremonial hall of the SAF Central Military Club in Belgrade concert "Our children" was held on Friday, where the children of military men or retired military personnel, accompanied by the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence "Stanislav Binicki gave a special performance.

Talented boys and girls, at a concert organized for the second year in a row were joined by such prominent musicians as Ana Stanic and Vlado Georgiev, whose fathers also were in the military. The program was hosted by actor Vuk Kostic.

This event dedicated to young people who are linked not only for their love of music but also by the fact that their parents are the employed in the defense system, in the crowded hall was attended by Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, Chief of General Staff Lt.Gen Miloje Miletic, members of the Ministry Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces with the families and celebrities from the public and cultural life.

On this special occasion, and a musical celebration of the Serbian Army Day such prominent artists as Merima Njegomir and director Aleksandar Mandic and Professor Slobodan Arsenijevic were awarded medals – the military memorial medal for outstanding contribution to the defense of the Republic of Serbia ". Medals were presented by Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac.

Twin sisters Gobovi? Marina and Marija had the honorof opening the concert this year,by performing the beautiful old son “Jecam znjela”. The sisters are 26 years old, live in Belgrade and sing for the Folk Orchestra of the Serbian National Broadcast Company RTS. The art ensemble Stanislav Bini?ki "performed under the baton of maestro major Igor Mitrovic.

Later in the program, the audience enjoyed the performance of sixteen year old student Helena Popovic from Belgrade, who played Beethoven's piano sonata pastoral.

Then the youngest performer presented herself, an eight year old Andjela Markovic from Kraljevo, who played the violin and without a hint of stage fright, performed the composition "Crane."

A twelve-year Djordje Kostic from Ruma, a specialist on the accordion, played the Toccata composition.

Ten-year Smiljkovi? Mila, who lives in Nis, sang a folk song from the area, called "Zasto ti je mila kceri jelek otkopcan”
Accompanied by the string ensemble "Binicki", Marija Colovic from Kraljevo performed the composition "Nocturne Alaro. Marija is 12 years old and plays the violin.

Seventeen year old Olga Obrenovic from Belgrade played Mozart’s aria of Cerlina from the opera "Don Giovanni".

The audience also enjoyed the sounds of acoustic guitar, played by Marko Radojkovic, a 16 year old living in Prokuplje, who performed the famous song "Cavatina" from "The Deer Hunter."

During the program, fourteen year old Jovan Stojsic, from Ruma, played composition "Danube Waves"on the accordion.

The flute is the instrument by which Nina Stamenkovic seeks artistic expression. She is 19 years old and lives in Cacak, and she performed the composition "Badineri" by Johann Sebastian Bach.

The series of classic tunes, were then interrupted by Mirjana Konjikovac (14) who performed the pop song "Beautiful “ by the famous pop singer Christina Aguilera.

The rest of the concert was marked by popular songs from famous films. First Kristina Bojkovic introduced herself, a17 year- old from Aleksinac, who performed the song from the movie "Love Story" on the flute.

Another famous film tune performed by the Jovana Protic, aged 17, from Novi Sad who sang the composition from the movie "Titanic."

Vasiljkovic Sanja, aged 11, from Belgrade, chose to perform solo at the concert. Sanja performed the song "Beograd volim”, accompanied by the Orchestra" Stanislav Binicki ", under the baton of maestro Pavle Medakovic.

At the end of the concert Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac said it was a great pleasure and pride that evening for him to have attended a concert which has become a traditional one, the concert of our children. "Stage fright or no stage fright, they are our future virtuosos," said the minister and gave support to children to persevere in their path, but also to their parents who set aside money for their musical education in these difficult times, instilling true values in them.
