Humanity in action



In Kraljevo-based barracks Ribnica today the Chief of the Department for Traditions, Standards and Veterans within the Human Resources Sector Colonel Sladjana Ristic and commander of the 2nd Brigade of the Army Brigadier General Dusan Stojanovic delivered humanitarian assistance to the members of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia whose homes were damaged in an earthquake in Kraljevo.

The humanitarian effort, which was launched at the proposal of the Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac and the Chief of the Serbian Army Lt. Gen. Miloja Miletic, a total of 2.16 million RSD have been collected, and the Joint Committee of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia decided to provide assistance to 20 members of SAF in the same amount of 24,000 RSD.

Upon presenting the assistance, Colonel Ristic announced that a broader humanitarian campaign at the Ministry and the Army with the members giving one percentage of their monthly income will be launched, while general Stojanovic expressed belief that the action will take on. It is expected that in this way some 15 million RSD will be collected

The house of senior sergeant Darko Maric, from the 98th aviation brigade, whose family has nine members spanning generations, was demolished in an earthquake. Sergeant Maric is satisfied with the assistance he has received, but he also expects the municipality of Kraljevo to help him. He especially thanked the Engineering Battalion of the 2nd Brigade of the Army, and the company MPC "Holding" from Belgrade, which ] donated a prefabricated house.

Military servant Miroslav Zivic from traffic battalion with the Logistics Training Center is currently living in the garage with two children and his wife, as his house was destroyed in the earthquake. "In comparison to our needs, this is a small assistance, but it will be properly used" as Zivic said.

The house of corporal Zoran Jovicic from 2 Army brigades scheduled for expert restoration "Helpmeans a lot to me, especially because now I know that members of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia think of us in this situation," as Zoran said
