Minister Skundric's lecture in the Military Academy
Minister of Energy Peter Skundric, PhD held today a lecture to the 54th Class of General Staff Military Academy training. Skundric talked about the energy security of the Republic of Serbia, and on that occasion presented the history, current situation and plans of our country in the energy field. - The main objectives of our energy system is to ensure continuous and safe supply of energy, a sustainable development of the sector which can enable us to affect the development of national economy - said Peter Skundric.
Minister of the officers explained the importance of energy to defend the state.
- As people who defend freedom, you know that today the power of individual components of energy systems equals the power of modern weapons. Energy infrastructure and energy system may be the best defense of a state, as Skundric presented. According to him, the power situation in Serbia is satisfactory.
- Our electricity sector provides enough energy for our country.
The data for 2010 have not yet been processed but it is well known that the Electro industry of Serbia (EPS) in 2009 made 50 million EUR worth of exports. If the rate of industrial growth should be 3.6%, we would in the next 30 years double the production of electricity. We have committed ourselves to l persevere on this path, because we will overcome the crisis and hire more people - added Skundric. Following the lecture, as a sign of gratitude, the Head of the Military Academy, Brigadier General Mladen Vuruna donated a monograph ''The Serbian military education'' to minister Skundric.
