Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff visit the US aircraft carrier

Defence Minister Dragan Šutanovac and Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Lt Gen Miloje Miletic and his associates visited the US aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.

This is the first visit of the highest-level delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to the US fleet aircraft carrier at the invitation of the US Embassy in Belgrade. Such visits are normally organized for high political and military officials of friendly countries. The delegation of the Ministry of Defence also included the Commander of Air Force and Air Defence Brigadier General Ranko Živak.

Besides our delegation, a high-level delegation from France was also in a one-day visit to the aircraft carrier.

Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the USA in the field of defence is the best part of the overall bilateral relations, and the most developed form of this cooperation is within the Ohio National Guard State Partnership Programme and the International Military Education and Training programme. During this year, conclusion of a number of different agreements is expected.

The US aircraft carrier USS Enterprise is the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and is a central element of Carrier Strike Group 12 within the US Navy Sixth fleet.
