Large interest for the Sava Sumanovic paintings exhibition
The exhibition of paintings by Sava Sumanovic - "Path of pictures in the Gallery of the Central Military Club Serbia, opened on 22 December has so far been visited by more than 11,000 art lovers.The organizers of the exhibition are the Media Center "Odbrana" and gallery "Sava Sumanovic" from Sid, and all admirers of creativity of one of the greatest Serbian painters of XX c will be able to visit it every day from 10:00 to 20:00 until 29th January.
It is the unusual exhibition, which subtly unveils the secrets of the creative times of Sava Sumanovic - from preparation to completion of the work of art. All images and templates that make up this exhibition were created in the period from 1927 to 1942. The exhibition includes 74 paintings and drawings, which form 35 pairs. Of these, 33 images were made in oil painting technique, and 41 are templates for the image in a variety of techniques.
The exhibition of paintings by Sava Sumanovic part of the new concept of exhibition activities of the Media Center "defense" and commitment to the House of the Army of Serbia in Belgrade in the future representative of the exhibition organized in cooperation with museums, galleries and legacies of our great art.
On 115th Save Sumanovic birth anniversary, on 22 January from 12.00 to 16.00 hours, and on 26 January at the same time, guided tours through the exhibition and the creation of the master will be organized. The authors of the exhibition are Vesna Burojevic and Milan Jukic, director and curator of the gallery "Sava Sumanovic" from Sid respectively, and on that occasion visitors will have the opportunity to discover many interesting details from the life and work of the painter who was shot by Ustasha on 28 August in 1942. The exhibition is free and the collected funds of the accompanying catalog are intended for financing the restoration and conservation work and restoration of damage to the image Save Šumanovi?a series featuring floral motives, which is owned by the Media Center's "ODBRANA".
