Meeting of the NTF Steering Commitee for Assisting Discharged Military Perosnnel



The 15th meeting of the Steering Committee of the NATO Partnership for Peace Trust Fund for Assistance to Discharged Defence Personnel in the Republic of Serbia was held today in the premises of the Directorate for a Retraining, Tradition, Standards and Veterans.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of 18 donor countries, led by Norway, the Ministry of Defence and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), otherwise, the executive agent of the project.

The representative of the Assistant Minister Defense Brigadier General Sladjan Djordjevi? said that this period was marked by successful cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and other member states of NATO and Partnership for Peace Programme as well as the International Organization for Migration.

- PRISMA is repeatedly being rated as one of the most successful projects in the region, thanks to the NATO / Partnership for Peace project, the NCOs Training Center Project and other international projects – as General Djordjevic said in his expose, adding that these examples may provide a good basis for potential cooperation when in terms of similar activities in the region.

He said that preparations were underway to create a new project to support a career change, their target audience being professional soldiers, and the project is expected to be completed mid-year.

The actual activities, plans for the future, as well as the financial plan were presented by the Norwegian Defense Attaché Colonel Esben Os, Head of Mission of IOM Gregoire Gudstajn, and the project manager Gianluca Rocco.

The next Steering Committee meeting is planned for late March.
