During 2010, the Military Security Agency was engaged to look into the criminal activities in the First Pontoon Riverine Battalion in Sabac and all the gathered information was is submitted to the Military Police.

Based on the grounded suspicion that he has committed the crime under Article 419 of the Criminal Code, "Undermining the military and defensive power of the state" and in consultation with relevant Higher Prosecutor in Sabac, the Military Police arrested the LTCOL Zoran Stanic, a former commander of the First Pontoon Riverine.

In accordance with the Law on Criminal Procedure, Stanic has been handed over to the prosecutor and investigating judge, by which the jurisdiction of the Military Police has stopped, only if the prosecutor’s office requests the MP to be engaged in collecting new evidence.

The Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces are not allowed to disclose any information in criminal charges, which is under the authority of the prosecution and the court.
