Minister meets with the Minister of Foreign of Uruguay
Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac talked with the Minister of Foreign of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay Mr. Luis Almagra in Belgrade today .Minister acquainted the guest with the process of reforms in the defense system of Serbia, professionalization of the Serbian Armed Forces as well as the advancements made in the military technical and military economical cooperation with other states in the region and beyond.
Minister Almagra showed special interest in issues pertaining to the defense system of Serbia stressing that the armed forces of Uruguay were undergoing a process of equipping, and upgrading, both of their know-how and their political role in the society.Both ministers concluded that the drafting of cooperation agreement between Uruguay and Serbia was in its final stages, and its inking could be expected as soon as early next year, which could soon be put into practice in concrete forms of cooperation.
Minister thanked his guest for Uruguay’s principled stance regarding the Kosovo issue and both ministers agreed on the importance of adhering to the international law.
