Talks on introducing chaplain service



During his visit to the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces, the representatives of the US EUCOM, the chief chaplain, Colonel Brian Van Sikl and Timothy Pendolino met today with State Secretary Igor S. Jovicic and Chief of the Traditions, Standards and Veterans of MOD, Colonel Sladjan Ristic.

The topic of discussion was the introduction of chaplain services in the Serbian Army. On that occasion, State Secretary Igor Jovicic acquainted the representatives of the U.S. delegation with the EC Regulation on the introduction of religious services in the military and the recent visit of representatives of MoD to the National Guard Ohio and the Pentagon.
Colonel Van Sikl and Pendolino were received by the Head of Human Resources (J-1), Brigadier General Dobrivoje Veljkovic and Colonel Stevica Karapandya. During the joint interview, to mutual satisfaction, experiences were exchanged, with the American side promising assistance in further activities in introduction of religious services in VS.

During his visit to Belgrade, the U.S. EUCOM delegation had the opportunity to tour the room for church ceremonies, the Military Medical Academy and the Temple of Saint Sava.
