A soldier in the regular military service Zoran Peric died today around 9 am in the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade.

Peric soldier fell ill this morning around 7.40 am during a regular morning exercise at the barracks Dedinje. At around 7.50 am he was rushed to the Emergency Center MMA, where he was diagnosed with a cardiac failure. Despite long and persistent resuscitation, cardiac function could not be reestablished and the soldier unfortunately died.

Dejan Peric was born in Kikinda in 1983. AS of September this year, he has been in service in the Guard of the Serbian Armed Forces. He was a graduate student at the Faculty of Physical Education in Novi Sad, he was married and father of a three-year old girl.

Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac sent a telegram of condolences to the family of the deceased soldiers.

A detailed medical expertise will establish the direct cause of sudden deterioration of health of soldier Dejan Peric.
