Minister meets with defense industry directors



On the occasion of the entry into force of a new contract, worth approximately 400 million USD, which the Serbian defense industry should implemented over the next six years, Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac held today a meeting with directors of the companies Yugoimport-SDPR J.P., Holding Company Krusik from Valjevo, and the Sloboda ad Cacak.

In addition to these three companies, which are the main bearers of this work, the Technical Repair Bureau in Kragujevac, as well as Prvi Partizan in Uzice, and other companies from the Republic of Serbia will be included in this project.

Sutanovac stressed the need for full mobilization of all employees in companies involved in the project, to ensure that all obligations under the agreement are met within set deadlines.

Furthermore, as he stressed the construction of the smelting plant in HK Krusik which was destroyed during the NATO bombing, as well as other investments that will be implemented in other companies of the Serbian defense industry, are all done with a view of boosting their technological and human resources, which will provide continuous positioning of this industry as one of the most important export industries in the Republic of Serbia.

At the meeting it was estimated that the strengthening of our defense industry’s presence in the markets of the Middle East and North Africa, primarily Iraq, Libya, Kuwait, Algeria and Egypt should be continued.
