MMA signed a cooperation protocol with the medical schools in Serbia

The Head of the Military Medical Academy Major General Miodrag Jevtic, PhD and the deans of Nis and Novi Sad Medical Schools, Milan Visnjic, Nikola Grujic respectively signed a protocol on business-technical cooperation which envisages a series of joint scientific and practical activities.

The signing of the Protocol was attended by the deans of medical schools in Kragujevac and Kosovska Mitrovica, with which the MMA works on the basis of signed contracts, and the Belgrade Faculty of Medicine, with which the MMA has had a long-standing cooperation in various fields.

"Academic cooperation between our educational institutions has long existed, but it can and should be stronger, in education, science and research as well as publishing activities, all in a sacred mission of healing and improving human health as a universal value to which we, the doctors, followers of the Hippocrates oath, are dedicated" , said the head of the MMA.

He added that the deans of medical schools had by this act and deed showed that they were all working on same tasks and in the same mission, for health, keeping up with the highest standards of medical practice and science with a clear vision for future development.

The Military Medical Academy is an institution in which, as General Jevtic reminded the present, under the same roof, a medical service, as well as educational and research services function effectively, adding that since 2009 this institution has been accredited as an institution for the study of medicine. This was an acknowledgment, as he said, of the academic potential of the MMA , which has more than 120 professors and assistant professors, thus making it an integral part of the academic areas of the country.

"Students of Medicine-MMA cadets are prepared at the same time to be good doctors and even better officers, who are mastering medical knowledge, the skills of military medicine and officer skills," said General Jevtic, adding that the education of the MMA is carried out in a mentor-college system, while the cadets are being trained for the purposes of the defense system of Serbia.

Deans of medical schools have expressed their satisfaction with this agreement on cooperation, welcoming the efforts to make a unified medical community in Serbia.

The signed protocol envisions working together through the exchange of professors and academic programs, solving problems in the field of science and clinical practice, the exchange of knowledge and experience through scientific research.
