Commemorative salvo to mark Armistice Day



The Armistice Day in WWI was marked yesterday at 16:00 with a commemorative salvo. At the Sava terrace in Kalemegdan park, in the presence of numerous citizens, the members of the Guard fired the salvo from six artillery weapons to mark the Armistice Day which was signed on 11 November 1918.

The Armistice Day will be officially marked today by laying commemorative wreaths to an Unknown Hero on Avala and at the Memorial in Novo Groblje. This ceremony will serve to commemorate and remember all the victims of WWI, both in the armed forces and civilians, similar ceremonies will also be held in other countries which were on the side of the Allies.
