Launch of the monograph "The education in the Serbian army "



 At the 55th International Book Fair, at the stand of the Media Center's "Defense", a monograph "The education in the Serbian army ", by a group of authors, was launched last night with the Chief of the Military Academy, Brigadier General BA. Mladen Vuruna as the key speaker.

- Book among other things, marks 160 years of Serbian military education. Through photos and text, which provide a wealth of information and facts, we gave a comparative analysis of our past, present and vision, which bespeaks of aims and our direction- said General Vuruna.

This monograph about the Serbian army is based on a comparative view, the history and present.
Assistant Professor Mirjana Zoric, PhD, professor of military history at the Military Academy , who was in charge of the history part of the book along with collecting the needed materials, pointed out that the book presents the entire history of military education in Serbia.

 - We dealt with historical facts, starting with the first schools that are were established in the Principality of Serbia – namely the establishment of the Guardian school in 1830, the Artillery School in 1850, as forerunners of today's military academy, to this day, when we have finally obtained accreditation for our study programs and established the first military university in Serbia – the Defence University, thus finalizing and rounding up the fundamental reforms in the field of military education and building a modern system of military education, that few countries in our region can boast of - said Dr. Mirjana Zoric.

Professor Jan Marcek, PhD, also spoke at the book launch, as the person who was in charge of accreditation of the Military Academy.

 Admirers of military literature today will be able to attend a book launch of " the Handbook on the International Humanitarian Law in the Serbian Armed Forces," by Miodrag Starcevic and "Partnership in Security" by Radenko Mutavdžic."Security agencies in the world", by co-authors Milan Milosevic and Zoran Sreckovic, as well as the work of prof. Dr. Mile Bjelajac "Diplomacy and the military" and "Protection of Secret Innovations" by Obrad Cabarkapa and "Globalization and security prospects" by Stanislav Stojanovic.


During the day tomorrow the book "Security services the world" by Milan Milosevic and Zoran Sreckovic, will be launched along with the following titles: "Globalization and the security perspective of the world" by Stanislav Stojanovic and "Protection of confidential innovation" by Obrad Cabarkapa. Saturday event will feature the work of professor Mile Bjelajac, PhD, "Diplomacy and the Military"
