International course on ionizing radiation held at CBRN Training Centre

An international course on ionizing radiation detection, dosimetry and protection is being held at the CBRN Training Centre in Kruševac this week. The course is being attended by military personnel from 11 countries.
The course has brought together CBRN personnel from the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, Montenegro, and Spain. Their goal is to improve their knowledge and skills in carrying out specialised tasks in environments exposed to ionizing radiation.

During hands-on sessions in specialised labs, the trainees are learning to use detection and dosimetry equipment, practising techniques for the detection and measurement of ionizing radiation sources, assessing the effects of radiation on biological systems, and practising basic protective measures.
The course is being delivered by certified instructors from the CBRN Training Centre, as well as guest lecturers from the Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate and the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences.

This and similar international courses, as well as the keen interest shown by foreign armed forces in pursuing training at our centre, are the strongest testament to the expertise of our instructors and the quality of CBRN training provided by the Serbian Armed Forces.
