Army units conducting exercise using simulation

A command and staff exercise is being conducted at the Serbian Armed Forces’ Simulation Training Centre in Belgrade this week. Army units are using simulation to practise executing military operations.
The exercise scenario goes as follows: a brigade command is organising and executing an offensive operation, while a battalion command, acting as an opposing force, is putting up defence in a designated section of the area of operations.

In line with the scenario, the command personnel, staff officers and non-commissioned officers are practising decision making procedures in various tactical scenarios and coordinating the employment of troops, cutting-edge combat equipment, and observation, reconnaissance and counter-unmanned aerial systems.
The exercise also tests the personnel’s understanding of the principles governing the employment of troops in operations, coordinated action and collaboration with Ministry of the Interior units and civil organisations.

The goal is to enhance the capability of commands and units to plan, organise, and execute combat operations in complex operational environments and high-intensity conflicts.
Computer Assisted Exercises (CAX) are an important part of hands-on training in the Serbian Armed Forces, as they provide staff officers and commands with the opportunity to develop their skills in planning and executing combat operations with minimal resources.
