ODBRANA at the 55th Book Fair



Hungarian writer Laszlo Vegel opened the 55th International Book Fair in Belgrade, which will last until 31 October.

This year, fans of military books, at the Belgrade Fair Hall 1, can expect Media Center's "Odbrana” stand new titles, with a fair discount from 30 to 70 percent, and the ability to buy certain publications in 18 monthly installments.

The defense system’s publishing house will promote in the monograph "The Serbian army education", a group of authors, on the 26th October at 17 pm with Brigadier General BA. Mladen Vuruna, Head of the Military Academy as the speaker. The visitors will be able, among others, to see the book "Handbook of International Humanitarian Law in the Army of Serbia," by Miodrag Starcevic, "Security services the world", by co-authors Milan Milosevic and Zoran Sreckovic, as well as the work of prof. Dr. Mile Bjelajac "Diplomacy and the militar" and "Protection of Secret Innovations" by Obrad Cabarkapa as well as "Globalization and security prospects" by Stanislav Stojanovic.


- Culture and books, are as much needed as the European Union, as one without the other can not exist Every community or society overcomes obstacles by gathering their energies and directing them to create a new past. If was unable to do that, then our past will become a ruin. This event convinced me that our past is in safe hands. So "let us be wise" - said Vegel, officially opening October holiday books.

During the week, new editions will feature more than 800 publishers from Serbia and abroad. On behalf of Sweden, the honorary guest country of the event, author Osa Lind welcomed the guests and introduced "Voices of Sweden” with the participation of 20 authors from that country.

Participants at the Fair and publishers from the region come from Greece, Japan, Russia, Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Brazil, Angola and Iran. This is the first time that the Netherlands and Slovakia have exhibited in Belgrade , and the fourth time a joint stand Eunike will present the European cultural centers in the Serbian capital.
